Missing you, missing Gifted
The last few years we started our Christmas season with a trip to the RDS in Dublin to set up our stall at Gifted, the Contemporary Craft & Design Fair.
With about 40,000 visitors over 5 days, the fair is a major event for all local Irish crafters, who rely on the annual event as part of their income. The Mood Designs isn’t any different, of course; but more even than the sales, we miss the atmosphere in the RDS.
Meeting our customers face to face is something we always enjoy, and it’s great to get direct feedback on our ceramics. We love hearing stories of how our framed art was sent to an auntie who lives in the States, or our jewellery made somebody’s mum really happy last Mother’s Day.
It’s also always a great opportunity to make new connections with retailers like tourist and gift shops, and to catch up with our fellow designers and makers. There has never been a feeling of competition or rivalry at Gifted – it is an exchange, and there are so many gifted artists on this island to appreciate.
But while we are missing our week in Dublin this year, Gifted has brought the fair to your home.
